Victorinox Knife Case for 10 Knives, Black

just barely a workable solution
The storage case is basically a workable solution. It has a hard outer shell that may be good for added protection in some situations. However, I have blade protectors and therefore I can only use 8 of the 10 knife slots.

Additionally, the knife slots are not always wide enough to hold the larger knives.

Perfect solution for safely transporting knives!
I'm very pleased with this purchase. I use this to carry my collection of Forschner (Victorinox) Fibrox knives when I'm cooking or carving meats away from home. My 10" chef's knife, 10" slicer, 8" chef's knife, 8" bread knife, carving fork, paring knives, etc. fit perfectly and are well protected. The net pouch even provided sufficient space for a couple of serving spoons/forks. The straps on the fastening clips are adjustable to allow for changes in overall case thickness as the number of knives increases or decreases. The protective flap (shown folded diagonally in the photo) provides extra assurance that the knives stay in position. I no longer worry about nicking the blades (or nicking myself!!!) when transporting my knives. Highly recommended!

"Barely Workable" is about right, nevertheless an attractive knife roll.
I am upgrading my knife set for culinary school to Victorinox, from Mercer, and decided to get this knife roll as a replacement for my old one. The outside of the roll is very similar to my old one, fabric with an embroidered Victorinox logo between the clasps. Overall, it is a very attractive package to transport your knives in and has plenty of pockets and a nice big zippered mesh pouch for holding extras like shears, a potato peeler, needle nose pliers, and any other must have gadgets. A couple business card holders are handy to have and some thermometer/pen pockets are another nice touch.

The one fault that could be a deal breaker for some, also mentioned in a previous review, is that the cinch down straps on the outside of the roll do not have much slack to them. While I am waiting on a few more knives to be delivered, I decided to move over a few of my old Mercer knives; which have bigger handles. The larger "comfort" handles of the Mercers do not fit very...
