Best, Cheapest Alternative on the Market!
To start off, I'm a huge sucker for quality. I am not afraid to pay an extra dollar or two for something that I know will work. As far as pH/PPM meters go.. I have used Milwaukee pH600, and the BlueLab PPM/TDS meter. I paid more at the grow store for both of those hand-helds, for what I paid for this online. I just recently switched to DWC agriculture, so it is a HUGE bonus to being able to keep these in the reservoir at all times. I've kept it in the bucket for 3 months now; calibrating once a month just to be safe. I bought this exact same model at my local grow store, but recently picked one up for a buddy on amazon. I haven't compared this product to the BlueLab meter of the same type.. I can't bare to spend $300-$400 to check what my pH/ppm's are.. Not knocking that it may be a superior product, but I'd rather go back to handhelds then spend that kind of money. As far as the Nutradip goes, it comes with a 2 year warranty, which covers the component itself, not the readers...
It's good for the price
The meter is accurate and stays accurate for quite some time before recal is needed which is simple to do.
The downside to this is if you have a cheap digital ballast without good shielding it will not work when the light is on. Magnetic has no effect. So of your using a digital ballast go with a more expensive meter that won't freak out when the ballast is on
Works great
Have had it running a week or so and I love it. I run a small DWC setup and use this to be able to quick check. Will update if any problems arise.
I bought some PH/PPM test solution just to if it was calibrated good from the factory. It was dead on. Have had it running non stop since I bought it and it works great.
